GETTING STARTED WITH YSGW Young Singers of Greater Westfield is an auditioned chorus of approximately 65 singers selected from the greater Westfield area. The purpose of this non-profit organization is to provide gifted young people with an opportunity to perform a wide range of challenging music, including folk, jazz, Broadway, contemporary, and classical. Singers develop their vocal skills and musical knowledge by working with other children and with qualified professional educators and musicians. YSGW welcomes all students in grades 2-12 who love to sing. We try to make the process of becoming a Young Singer as friendly and enjoyable as possible. Getting started with YSGW is as easy as following these three steps:
AFTER THE AUDITION: WHAT NEXT? At your audition, you will be given additional information about YSGW, including our handbook for members, a copy of the latest newsletter, a student interest survey, and other details about rehearsals and concerts. Your director will speak to you about the schedule and rehearsal policies. New members join each division at the beginning of each semester (that is, in September and January). HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ? Tuition for Young Singers is $90 per semester, a total of $180 for the entire year. Your tuition helps to pay for the purchase of music, rental of our rehearsal and performance spaces, buses for our school tours, and the other costs associated with keeping our program active and enriching. We work hard to keep our costs affordable for all families, and we offer financial aid to help ensure that all children who want to sing can joing us.
